Colleen Jamieson, OTRL, CBIS
Colleen joined Great Lakes Vision Rehabilitation at Excel in 2022 and has a clinical interest in brain injuries and strokes.
My Story
Colleen graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Western Michigan University and has been practicing as an occupational therapist for the last 12 years.

Her first job was on the inpatient spinal cord injury unit at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.
She progressed to a clinical specialist and shortly after, she moved to the neuro science unit, where she became the senior occupational therapist. Developing a passion for brain injury, she went on to become a certified brain injury specialist. She soon developed another passion for vision deficits post brain injury and soon realized that this was the missing piece when treating many of her patients.

Following 10 years of her career at RIM, she had the opportunity to stay at home with her daughter. However, only just 6 months later, she was unexpectedly led to GLVR at Excel, where she now works part time. She describes working at Excel as her true dream job and is excited to continue her career pathway with her amazing new team. She absolutely loves helping people achieve their goals and seeing the progress along the way is a truly rewarding.

In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband and their two-year-old daughter, who is their world and are so excited to be expecting their second child in the fall of 2023. Colleen also enjoys getting up early to watch the sunrise on the water, boating, experimenting with cooking/baking, and reading a good book (either by a cozy fire or by the water on a summer day!)
