Kayla's Story

Kayla presented to GLVR after being prescribed prism glasses for 2 years. She had sudden onset double vision in the distance and was given prism to alleviate her double vision. Unfortunately, she liked to wear contact lenses but could not wear just contact lenses with the need for prism. Eventually her doctor referred her for a vision therapy assessment. She found GLVR and presented with the hope of eliminating her double vision and need for prism glasses.

During her journey at GLVR, she was able to decrease her prism need from 90% of the time down to 10% of the time. In addition, she also decreased her prism magnitude from 6 prim diopters down to 1.5 prism diopters. She only wears her prism glasses when she is fatigued and drives long distances.

She was excited with the results and help that GLVR provided to her, and she wished she heard about vision therapy earlier to improve her quality of life and activities of daily living. She was excited to learn that vision therapy is appropriate for adults with strabismus, not just reserved for children.
